Facebook Community Boost is coming to Denver June 18-19.

Facebook launched its new Community Boost program in November of last year as a way of investing in small businesses across the country.

The program is designed to help small businesses grow and to give more people the digital skills they need to compete in the new economy.

Facebook Community Boost will be visiting 30 cities in 2018, including Denver June 18-19.

Registration opened up on Tuesday for anyone who wants to attend Community Boost, which kicks off on Monday, June 18, at The Cable Center at 2000 Buchtel Blvd., Denver, CO 80210.

Why Denver? When Facebook heard that Denver wanted more digital skills training, that became a driving force behind its hosting of Community Boost.

A survey of small businesses in Denver, conducted by Morning Consult, found:

  • More than 8 in 10 (81%) told Facebook that when looking to hire employees for their businesses, digital skills were important. When asked about where a candidate went to school, less than half (46%) of small business workers in Denver stated that was an important factor.
  • Nearly 8 in 10 (79%) of small business workers in Denver said that creating a social media presence is important to growing their business, but less than one in 5 (17%) said that their skills in this area were excellent.
  • Nearly 2 in 3 (63%) of small businesses in Denver said they wanted to learn about key growth measurements and metrics for their companies.
